Hello!
My name is Daniela Costa and I own The Art Life Shop! It has been a passion of mine for over 5 years to bring Art Inspiration to people. I started off scrapbooking being a stay at home mom, and to get some time out of the house, I worked a few hours a week in a scrapbook store, this started me out to teaching and moving into managing and helping run the store. I love teaching and inspiring others and couldn't find exactly what I wanted on the market so I started The Art Life. Its been a project kit club, and vintage style or unusual style embellishments and other things that you might not find in your normal scrapbook store.
I have done many things in my "scrapbook" career. I at one point was on 5 design teams a few years back, mostly kit clubs or smaller manufacturers that have closed due to the market, I have had the pleasure of teaching around the U.S. most notably at Donna Downey's Inspired Event in 2009, I have taught at various Scrapbook Expo's, helped run Scrapbooking Retreats, worked retail in scrapbook stores and headed a design team in one of them. I've been published in various magazines, and worked with many other teachers developing product and teaching classes. My "home" store is Scrapbook Territory in Berkeley, and my personal home is Walnut Creek, California. Last year, I ramped up The Art Life Shop website and made it full fledged retail store, but it became more of a business store and not an inspiration store. I took down the retail side and am going to focus more on kits and inspiration.
Currently I am an Endorsed Educator for WOW Embossing Powders and Basically Bare. I am on the Design Team for Basically Bare and GlobeCraft Memories.
In my personal life, I am a happily married wife to Aaron, and a mother to my beautiful 18 year old daughter Bianca who is away at college in Santa Barbara, and a mom to a darling little boy Tony who is a budding artist himself. None of my supplies are off limits to him and anything he wants to play with, cut up or experiment are game. He helps me make kits, count out supplies and loves being with me when I teach. He has been known to jump up on a lovely ladies lap to help her work on her project! I am dedicated to my art, my clients, and thrive on making them happy, it makes me happy to help others. I have two rescued dogs who are very much a part of our family and am blessed to have lots of family around including my mother who is my inspiration and muse.
I hope you have made it this far in my story and you'll stick around to learn more about me, my art and become my friend!
